Shirley (Cook) Hill, 71, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday. Born in Syracuse, she retired in 1999 from Van Duyn Nursing Home where she worked as a nurse's aid. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed spending time at camp.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years; Fred Jr., a son; Fred III, a grandson; Fred IV, a brother; Gerald Cook of Otego, a host of foster children, nieces, nephews, many close neighbors and family friends.
Services will be Friday at 10 AM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with her family on Thursday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 705 North Main Street.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
