Shirley J. Hammond

Shirley J. Hammond, 78, of North Syracuse, passed away March 12, 2025. Shirley was born in Syracuse, New York on January 22, 1947 to the late George and Sadie Stillman. 

She was a hairdresser and cut her family and friend's hairs over the years. She enjoyed crafting, and visiting the casino with her family and friends. Shirley was very competitive and loved playing cards and games. She loved adventuring and finding new places to explore. She looked forward to spending time with her children and grandchildren at their camp for the annual Fourth of July family reunion. Shirley was a very outgoing and generous person who will be greatly missed. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Gary B. Hammond; son, James "Bo" Parsons; and daughter, Kathy LaFountain. 

She is survived by her two daughters, Gayle (Mike) Furco, Kelly (Colleen) Warren; son, David (Tammy) Diezel; 12 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

Shirley was mother to few, and mom to many. 

Calling hours are Friday, March 21, 2025 from 11-1PM with a service to follow at New Comer, North Syracuse, NY. Interment to follow. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of CNY.
