Shirley M. Furgal, of Mattydale, passed away at home on Sunday, December 27th. Shirley and her late husband, Stanley "Baldy", owned and operated the Town Tavern in Mattydale for 18 years. She was the lone Dallas Cowboys fan in a family of Green Bay Packers fans and loved the Monday night Bingo games at Bessie Riordan Community Center.

She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley "Baldy"; son, John and daughter-in-law, Barbara Furgal; sons, Martin and Stephen Furgal and her brother, Charles Schill.

Shirley is survived by her 2 children, Richard (Anne) Furgal and Mary (Eamon Vaughan) Brisson; daughters-in-law, Deborah and Kathryn Furgal; sister, Betty Reilly; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, December 31st at 10am at St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of CNY.
