Shirley J. Barnholdt, 82, of Pitcher Hill in North Syracuse, passed away Saturday. She worked as a waitress at Sky Chef, Hancock Airport for 30 years. She was a member of the VFW Post 7290 Ladies Aux. Shirley is predeceased by her husband, Carl and a son, John Barnholdt. She was an inspiration to everyone she touched and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by a son, Michael (Beth) Barnholdt; 6 daughters, Nancy (Wayne) Cogan, JoAnne (Terrance) Baker, Susan (Mark) Squire, Patty (Joseph) DeLuca, Sandy Barnholdt, Dianne (David) Kufel; a sister, Audrey Funke; 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday, 8:30AM at St. Margaret's Church, Mattydale. Burial will follow in the North Syracuse Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse.
