Sherman S. Perkins, Jr. born October 21, 1929 in Oneida, NY, passed away after a long illness April 29, 2008 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Syracuse. Sherman was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps.

He is survived by his wife of over forty years, Anne King Perkins of Utica five sons; Ronald (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), Sherman (Bowling Green, KY), Michael (Sylvan Beach, NY), Patrick (Alexandria, TN), Kevin (Lebanon, TN) and one daughter Tina (Lebanon, TN). He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews in New York, Tennessee, Minnesota, Oregon, Mississippi, and Missouri and a brother Pete in Austin, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 5, at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the funeral. Internment with military honors will be held at Glenwood Cemetery in Oneida.
