Sheng C. "George" Sung
May 5, 2014
Sheng C. "George" Sung, 77, of North Syracuse, passed away Monday, after a long illness. Born in China, he left the family farm at a very young age to join Chiang Kai-shek's battle against communism. He escaped to Taiwan after the conclusion of China's Civil War. Later, George met and married his wife, Wooko Hwang and they had the opportunity to immigrate to the United States to offer their children opportunities they never had. George taught his family to have a "work hard" ethic. He owned and operated Imperial Chinese Restaurant at various locations in the Syracuse area with his family.
Whenever George had time off from work, he would want to go fishing or watch professional wrestling.
George is predeceased by his wife, Wooko on June 10, 2011.
He is survived by two sons, Tzewei (Kathy LaBeef) Sung and Tzemin (Alison Rice) Sung; a daughter, Amy Sung; a grandson, Caden George Sung.
Services and visitation were private.
George's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Loretto Cunningham 3rd floor and their Arch Care Program, for the excellent care and compassion they extended to him.
