Sharon E. Denton, of North Syracuse, passed away August 22nd, 2024. Sharon was born in Oswego, New York on February 13th 1948 to the late Richard And Louise Tompkins. In her youth she found her passion for music, playing the organ at various churches in Oswego. She graduated from Oswego High and went on to pursue her masters degree In music from Ithaca college. She met her husband Clark while in College and they were married 52 years before his passing. Together they traveled amongst Europe, Canada, all around the United states. One of their annual summer vacations was in Cape Cod. Sharon worked for the Liverpool Central School District for over 40 years as a music teacher doing what she loved most. She always devoted much time to the students and the performances that they would put on. At home she loved her animals, gardening, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her daughter in law, Sara, was her caretaker the past year and they grew a very close connection with their daily visits. Sharon loved her family dearly and always made sure to give hugs and her love. She is predeceased by her husband Clark B Denton and survived by her son, Scott Clark (Sara) Denton; daughter, Emily (Michael Douglas) Denton; grandchildren , Mariah Denton, Austin Campbell, Benjamin Campbell, Mason Campbell, McKenna Douglas; and her sister Cheryl (Randy) McCullough, and several nephews and nieces. Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St, North Syracuse, NY 13212 on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 4-6pm. Funeral Services will follow at 6pm. Graveside Services will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Oswego, NY on Friday, August 30, 2024, 1pm. Contributions may be made in her name to Liverpool Central School District fine arts department.
