Shad Michael VanDerMark, 41, of East Syracuse, passed away December 29, 2019 from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Shad was born in Syracuse, NY on September 20, 1978, to the late Michael J. VanDerMark and Kathy R. VanDerMark of Scriba.
Shad attended East Syracuse-Minoa High School, where he showed a great talent in art and writing.
Shad worked at various hotels in East Syracuse, as well as Securitas Security, and more recently could be seen driving around Syracuse for Uber.
He was predeceased by his father, Michael; grandparents, George and Mary VanDerMark; George R. Moody; uncles Charles J. (Carol) Moody; and his step-mother Kathleen.
Besides his mother, Kathy, he is survived by his loving wife, Christine (Billington), and would have celebrated their 7th anniversary on New Year's Eve. He leaves behind two children, Merrick, and Monroe; brothers, Shawn J., Shane (Marilyn); sisters, Shannon Dilling-Damota, and Karrie (Craig) Damm-Stewart; his grandmother, Marjorie A. Moody; his very supportive in-laws, Paul and Debra Billington, Michael (Michelle) Billington; and several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, January 11th, 2020 from 3-6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, with a service to follow.
