Sean P. Cummings, 26, of Fayetteville died unexpectedly on Thursday at his home. He was born in Syracuse and attended Chittenango HS. He continued his education at OCC and was currently on the Deans List. He studied Brazilian Jujitsu at Tai Kai Dojo for many years and received a brown belt. He worked several years for Panera Bread in Fayetteville. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hiking, hunting, basketball and reading. He had a great love for the outdoors and his family. He was full of laughter and was a natural comedian.
He will be missed by many.
He is predeceased by paternal grandparents, Mr. Mrs. Robert Cummings; and uncle, Sean Daley.
He is survived by his parents, Cynthia Cummings and Patrick Cummings and step father, Steven Mertens; a brother, Patrick II; a sister, Erin; maternal grandparents, Mike and Linda Daley of Indian Land, SC; aunts, Katie (Andy) Kocon, Heather (Joseph) Goldthwait; a uncle, Corey (Tara) Daley; and several cousins.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Services will be Wednesday, 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
