Schatz T. Darby, 89, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness.
Schatz was born in Plattsburgh, NY to the late Walter and Estella Besaw. She retired from Liverpool High School as a Guidance Secretary after 37 years. She was a true fan of SU sports and also enjoyed the NY Yankees. Schatz also loved to travel with her husband, Jim.
She was predeceased by her husband, James F.; son, James W. and two grandsons, James A. and Michael P. Darby and a sister, Jacquelyn Doty.
Schatz is survived by her sons, David, Kevin, Brian , Dennis and Alan Darby; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Roderick Besaw; daughter-in-law, Darlene Darby, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, Jan. 2nd 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. A funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 3rd 10am at the funeral home with burial to follow in North Syracuse Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Francis House or Hospice of CNY.
