Sari L. Hornfeck, 77, of North Syracuse, passed away lovingly surrounded by her family on May 28, 2021, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Sari was born in Sydney, Australia and emigrated to Gloversville, NY with her family when she was just 5 years old. The family later moved to Cleveland, Ohio where she met many friends whom she remained close with and cherished throughout her life. She married Anthony Hornfeck in 1965 and moved to Buffalo, NY and then to North Syracuse, NY where they co-owned and operated an inventory business and raised their 3 children. To nurture her creative side, Sari loved flower arranging, was a member of the artist guild, and was forever making things more beautiful. She also enjoyed playing mahjong with her wonderful, supportive friends for over 30 years. After retirement, Sari spent much of her time being an amazing grandmother to her granddaughter Olivia, truly the "light of her life". Her "Grand-dogs" were also a great source of joy and especially in the last few months, support. Sari was a genuinely loving and caring person who will be forever missed by all those whos' lives she touched.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Anthony Hornfeck; two daughters, Robyn (Joseph) Cuyler and Lisa (Jason) Bogardus ; son, Ryan Hornfeck; granddaughter, Olivia Cuyler; siblings, Lori Levy and Mark (Diane) Abel; and nieces and nephews.
