Sarah "Sally" Zalla Williams, 86, of Fayetteville died Sunday. Sally worked many years as a waitress at Dey Brothers Tea Room and previously worked at Lincoln Tea Room. She was a very spry 86 year old who was well known in the
Fayetteville area for her walking. She was an avid SU basketball and PGA golf fan and enjoyed fishing.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Williams in 1972 and her fiancé, Edward McCarthy in 2002.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia (Bennie) Stagnitta; a son, Michael Williams; daughter-in-law, Diane Pizzuti; sisters, Antoinette "Babe" (Daniel) Magaro and Katherine Brigandi; a brother, Arthur "Red" (Connie) Zalla; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 12 PM on Friday at St. Margaret's Church, Mattydale. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4-7 PM on Thursday at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
Contributions may be made to the Galisano Children's Hospital.
