Sarah "Sally" Walker
February 14, 2014
"Sally," 85, of Cicero, passed away Friday into God's arms.
She graduated from Vocational High School, Class of '45.
She worked at Carrier Corporation and M&M Heating and Plumbing. Sally worked for Sarah Coventry for 20 years and was a top salesman for 4 years.
Sally was a member of Andrews Memorial and later Cicero United Methodist Church.
Her life was her children and her family. As a loving mother, she almost killed her son when she let him hold the door handle of the car going down South Bay Rd. at 35 mph on his bicycle. Scared the crap right out of him.
Sally and Jack entertained for many years on Oneida Lake, boating with family and friends. Sally also enjoyed the birds at the feeder, gardening and cooking. Sally was a math wizard and was sharp 'til the end.
An avid talker, Donna once fell asleep while talking to her on the phone. She also lost her teeth once at the meat market from biting Donna's finger, scarring the butcher for life.
She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Charles "Jack."
She is survived by her children Bradd (Cherie), Eileen (Sven) Sloth, and Donna (Dan) Nicksich; six grandchildren, Chris (Kelli) Walker, Katrina (Stephen) Skinner, Ben Kellogg, Emily Kellogg, Andrew Nicksich and Derek Nicksich; six great-grandchildren, Gideon, Kylea, Elijah and Aubrey Skinner, Collin and Natalie Walker; one sister, Ann (Brad) Ludwig; a sister-in-law, June Wilkinson; a myriad of nieces and nephews and many special friends including Dottie Rushworth and Julie Griffith.
Calling hours will be 5-8pm Friday at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Funeral Service will be 11AM Sat. at Cicero United Methodist Church.
Contributions can be made to Cicero UMC, Doctors Without Borders or SmileTrain.
