Sarah Louise Rayder, 93, of Williamstown, passed away on her birthday at the Colonial Park in Rome with family by her side. She was born in Constantia daughter of the late Leon and Winifred Muckey. She was a graduate of Camden High School, Class of 1939 and on October 6, 1940 she was married to Leonard I. Rayder. He passed away on July 2, 1975. Sarah was a former member of the Williamstown Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and of the Eastern Star.
She was predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters: Edwin, Leon, Ralph, William, Frank, Ethel & Agnes, her son, Douglas and grandson, Ralph.
Surviving are her children: Virginia "Dixie" (Edward) LaBreck, Elizabeth "Libby" (Edward) Johst, David (Jane) Rayder, Kevin Rayder, Winnie (Michael,) McCullagh, Sr., her sister, Dorothy Greindl, 13 grandchildren, William (Valerie), Penny (Paul), Tracie (Bobby), John (Linda), James, Leonard, Matthew, Sarah, Douglas, Michael, Jr., Zebulon, Elizabeth, Jacob, 29 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 4-5:30pm at the Amboy Center United Methodist Church, Corner of Rte. 69 and Rte. 183, with services to follow, officiated by William Bryant.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Williamstown Public Library.
