Sarah A. Blackmon, 74, of Syracuse, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday. Sarah enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and caring for her loved ones. She was a devoted member of New Beginning Unity Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mother's Board. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, James J. Blackmon.
Sarah is survived by 4 children, Orlinda Blackmon, Yolanda (Leonard) Alford, James (Delisa) Blackmon and Sebastian Blackmon; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; 2 sister-in-laws; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
A calling hour will be held on Wednesday from 11AM to 12PM at New Beginning Unity Missionary Baptist Church, 588 Delaware St., Syracuse. A funeral service will follow at 12PM.
