Santino A. "Sonny" Malfitano, 80, of North Syracuse, passed away on Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on October 31, 1931 in Syracuse son of Anthony and Mary Malfitano. He worked for Onondaga County for 30 years. Sonny was a member of the Valley Mens Club and was an avid Yankee Fan.
He was predeceased by his wife, Loretta Malfitano in 1998.
Surviving are his brother, Samuel Malfitano, sister, Carmella Dungey Peiffer, along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling will be held on Tuesday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Services will be held on Wed. 10am at St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
