Sandra J. Barnholdt

Sandra J. Barnholdt, 65, of North Syracuse, NY passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024. She was born on January 25, 1959 to the late Carl and Shirley Barnholdt.

She was predeceased by her brother, John Barnholdt; sister, Joanne Barnholdt and longtime companion, Larry Vollmer.

Sandy is survived by her son, Jesse (Kristin) Barnholdt; grandchildren, Sloan and Stockton; sisters, Patty Deluca Barnholdt, Nancy Cogan, Sue Squire and Dianne Kufel; brother, Mike Barnholdt and life partner for over 25 years, Bob Horst.

Friends and family know how much her grandchildren meant to her and how she loved receiving their cards and artwork in the mail. Sandy also loved apple fritters, purple, card games, NY strip steak, fresh flowers, Yankee Candles, an occasional drink, relaxing in her garage during warm weather, and of course getting together to chat with friends and her large local family. She loved yard-work, she would get her inside "chores" done then go out to weed eat / sweep and tidy up flowers. Sandy was known to whip up a killer chili, and her son cherishes his fond memories of his mom's chef salads and taco platters. Sandy has proven to be quite the fighter maybe it's because she was so stubborn, persevering through major health issue after major health issue, especially in recent years. She is now at peace and will be missed by many.
