Ruth M. Overend, 91, of Liverpool passed away Monday. A life resident of the Syracuse area, Ruth was predeceased by her husband Joseph Sr. (1972) a daughter Joan Peake (1999) and a sister Martha Smith.
She is survived by her companion of 30 years Gerald Cowans; 10 children; Joseph Jr. (Shirley), Dolores Wescott, Robert (Shirley), William (Diane), John (Evelyn), Charles (Lorraine), Roger (Dora), Ruth Overend, Donald (Darlene) and Donna Magno (Jeffrey), 3 sisters; Mabel Sacocci, Viola Miller and Marion Landers, one brother; Frank De Coursey and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday at 10 AM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 705 N. Main St...
