Ruth Marie Barcomb, 91, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Mrs. Barcomb was born and raised in Syracuse, NY and resided there her entire life. She was employed for many years at Muench-Kreutzer Candle Company and after her retirement, she worked and volunteered for many years at the Rescue Mission Alliance of Syracuse. Ruth was a communicant for over 50 years at St. Paul's Cathedral. She was married twice;first, to the late Frank Edward "Lindy" Gleason and later to the late Darrell Bernard Barcomb.
She was predeceased by her parents, William "Henry" Warren and Martha "Mae" Boyer and her brother Samuel H. Warren of Syracuse.
She is survived by her 3 children, Mr. Steven Henry (Cheryl Allen) Barcomb, Mrs. Cynthia Irene (Jeffrey) Wahl and Mrs. Sheryl Marie (Eugene) Auslander; 3 grandchildren, Nicole Diane (Barcomb) Clark, Charlene Lillian Barcomb and Steven Darrell Barcomb;1 great granddaughter, Amelia Danielle Hodell; brothers, William S. Warren, Arther I. Warren of Syracuse and Franklin J. Warren of Oswego; sister-in-law, Rosalie (Mrs. Arthur Warren) and many nieces and nephews.
A service will be held Saturday, February 14th at 2PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Burial will be in Union Settlement Cemetery, West Monroe, NY in the spring. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Barcomb's family suggests donations could be made to The Samaritan Center, The Rescue Mission Alliance or PACE of CNY.
