Ruth M. Landherr

Ruth M. Landherr, 73, of Syracuse, passed away August 13, 2023. Ruth was born in Kingston, New York on December 12, 1949 to Roy and Winifred Hahn Summers. Ruth was employed with CSD, Syracuse, for 26 years as a TTY Operator. She was a free spirit that knew how to have a good time, especially when it came to her grandchildren. There was never a lack of silly string, water balloon fights, and pies to the face. In her free time, she enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, and spending time with her girlfriends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dennis J. Landherr; parents, Roy and Winifred Summers; and sister, Erna Wilcox.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Denise (Darren) Roberts and Dana Landherr; six grandchildren, Tori (Steven), Jacob, Melissa, Zachary, Caitlyn, and Connor; two great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Eliana; niece, Tammy Knutson; and three sisters, Patty Summers, Lucy Disisto and Mary Lou Sanchez.

Calling hours will be held Friday August 18, 2023 from 4-6PM at Lakeshore Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 6PM. The family invites all to gather for a meal following the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's memory to Make-A-Wish Central New York.
