Ruth H. Decker
February 11, 2014
Ruth H. Decker, 88, of Liverpool, was reunited with Norman, her husband of 69 years, on Tuesday.
She was a secretary at Rollway Bearing for many years.
Ruth was a good and faithful Christian spending several hours daily in prayer and bible devotions, always thinking of others before herself.
She was a member of the Ambassador Group that sent letters and called "shut-ins". Ruth loved to crochet hats and scarves for donation to the needy.
She was active in church dinners and took the responsibility of peeling mounds of potatoes at Trinity Methodist Church.
She loved bowling, Senior luncheons and trips, working in the garden, going to the beach and playing games.
No holiday or visit went without her special cookies, candies or pies. Above all Ruth cherished her family, continually giving her most precious gift…her time.
Ruth is survived by a sister, Lois (Doug) Calhoun; 2 daughters, Pamela Short, Sherry (Frank) Hull, 6 grand-children, Jennifer (Shannon) Tolbert, Kimberly Slack, Victoria (Jake) Laufer, Jason (Toni) Hull, Jacob (Catina) Hull & Jared Hull, along with 9 great grandchildren. Ruth was predeceased by a grandson, Jordan and brother, John Brush.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 1:30 PM at the North Syracuse Baptist Church with Services to follow at 1:30 PM. Burial will be private.
Contributions may be made to the North Syracuse Baptist Church, Senior Adult Ministries.
