Ruth E. Barber, 78, of East Syracuse, New York died Friday, July 20, 2012 at home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Ruth enjoyed the cottage at A-Bay, gardening, fishing and making puzzles. She was a proud and doting grandmother to Desi and Brittany . She retired from SEARS following many years of service as a collection agent.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jesse and Edith Powell Burdick and a sister, Jean Heck.
Surviving are her sons, David A. Barber of East Syracuse, New York and Scott (Colleen) Barber of Lake Mary, Florida; daughter, Diane (Tim) Goode of Fremont, New York; brother, Richard Burdick of Phoenix, New York; brother-in-law, Carl Heck of East Syracuse, New York; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 10 AM to 12 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, New York. Services and burial will be private.
