Russell P. "Russ" Homer, 86, of Syracuse, passed away after a long illness.
He was born on August 5, 1928 in Buffalo, NY, son of the late Peter and Nettie Homer.
He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Oneida of the Thames in the Oneida Nation Community in Canada.
He was predeceased by his twin boys; William and Paul, 2 grandchildren; Rusty, III & Ammie, his brother Peter Homer and daughter-in-law, Mary.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 65 years, Alice, his children; Russell, Jr., Bobby (Mary), Martin (Mahala), John, Patrick (Mary), Christine (Peter), David (Theresa), Mark (Bonnie), Mary (Gary), Norma (Jeff), Kathleen (Wayne), Peter (Beth),53 grandchildren, 76 great grandchildren , 3 great great grandchildren, brother Harrison (Shirley), 2 sisters; Mary Graves & Nettie Rudd.
A memorial service will be held at the American Legion, 110 Academy Dr., Syracuse on Saturday at 2pm.
