Roy D. Chipperfield

Roy "Chip" Chipperfield, 91, of Centerville Court, N. Syracuse passed away on Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Chip retired from Crouse Hinds in 1985 and previously worked at Lennox Furnace. Chip was a 30 year member of the North Syracuse Seniors, an excellent card player, enjoying pitch and pinochle. He looked forward to the once a month brunch with his large family at the Ramada. A beloved Yankee fan, he was also a supporter of the "little guy". He will be remembered as a real gentleman. Roy was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Warren, granddaughter, Debbie Bosell and grandson, Jimmy Chipperfield.
Roy is survived by his wife, Ethel; sons, James (Shirley), Roy (Terri) and Robert Chipperfield; daughter, Bonnie (Tom) Taylor; step children, Shirley (Fred) Kelly and Don Harrington; sister, Betty Deveraux; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 PM with services to follow immediately at 7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Entombment in Woodlawn Cemetery will be private.
Roy's family wishes to thank the personnel on floor 2-4 and the comfort care unit at St. Joseph's Hospital for the wonderful care Roy was given.
