Rosemary (VanAmber) Gilbert, 85, went home to be with her Savior, with her loving family by her side. Faithful to her Lord, she served as piano player, mentor and in many other ministries. She is predeceased by an infant son, Timothy Ben.
She is survived by her husband, John C. Gilbert of 61 years of marriage; three sisters, Bertha Van Amber, Ellen Woodall, Sally Bliss; she was devoted to her husband and eleven children; five daughters, Martha (James) Snyder, Kathryn (Jerry) McLean, Becky (Charlie) Simmons, Debbie (Bob) Hurd, Lois (Bob) Clark; six sons, John Amos (Cheryl Earnst), Paul (Karen Adams), Mark (Karen Lincoln), Daniel (Becky Fortna), Joe (Sharon DeSaw), and Tom (Kim Neuman); twenty six grandchildren; thirteen great grand-children; many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday 11 AM at the First Baptist Church, Phoenix, NY.
Burial will follow at the Phoenix Rural Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the First Baptist Church.
