Rosemary L. Devito

January 4, 1931 — April 25, 2021

Rosemary DeVito, 90, of Baldwinsville, NY, and formerly of New Hartford and Utica, NY, passed away Sunday, April 25th, 2021 surrounded by the unconditional love of God and of her family. Born in Utica, NY, January 4, 1931, daughter of the late Vincent and Ida Donaruma DeSanctis, Rosemary was a 1949 UFA High School graduate, and received a Bachelor's Degree in English/Communications from Utica College of Syracuse University. She was a life-long member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Rosemary was a very active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Baldwinsville, NY, and truly enjoyed serving her parish each week in a variety of roles. In her earlier years, after raising her children, Rosemary was a substitute teacher at Blessed Sacrament School, worked for the Savings Bank of Utica and as Alumni Director at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY. She was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother and was extremely proud of her family and of all their accomplishments. Her true joys were traveling, dancing, attending social gatherings with friends and relatives, and spending time with her family. She was also a very knowledgeable and patriotic citizen of the United States with strong political convictions.

She is survived by her children, Russell DeVito (Jamesville, NY), Dr. David DeVito (Regina), (Jamesville, NY), and Debra McGee (Daniel) (Chittenango, NY); grandchildren; Lindsey and Kyle Hebert, Ross and Alex DeVito, Victoria and Diana DeVito, Deborah Dawson and Jennifer Dawson Farley (Jeff). She is also survived by her very special nieces and nephews, Marjorie Cote', Barbara Melnick (Stephen), John Biamonte (Nancy), and James Biamonte (Lisa).

She was predeceased by her husband, Roland A. DeVito (1989), step-daughter, Diane DeVito Dawson, sisters Margarite DeSanctis and Josephine Biamonte.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 8th, 2021 at 11am at St. Mary of Mount Carmel, Utica, NY.
