Rose (Dantuono) Fitzgerald, of North Syracuse, passed away Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Rose was born in Lyons, NY. She worked for A. H. Pond Wholesale Jewelers, Chappell's Dept. Store and E.W. Edwards and son dept. store. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Cicero and belonged to their Chancel Choir and Altar Rosary Society; Stanley Pennock VFW Post Auxiliary. Rose was an avid amateur painter and was well known for her special Christmas cookies. She is predeceased by a brother, Joseph Dantuono; two sisters, Victoria Barletta and Lena Zriebec.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald J. Fitzgerald; brothers, Arthur (Dorothy) and Danny Dantuono; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday, 9:30AM at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Burial will follow at the Onon. Co. Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Thursday from 4-7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, NY.
