Rose Ellen Clarke

Rose Ellen Clarke, 70, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, Sunday at the Francis House. She retired as a CNS High School Nurse after 27 years of service. Rose was a member of the North Syracuse Girls Softball League and NSCSD Teachers Bowling League.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jay V. Clarke; 4 sons, Jay R. (Alison), Robert T. (Jackie), David C. (Carole), Peter J. Clarke; a daughter, Ellen M. (Tom) Carroll; her twin sister, Joan Praslick; six remaining siblings; 8 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Rose was a caring, loving and wonderful mother. She was completely selfless in her love as a mother and a wife. She loved sports and was a great athlete playing softball, tennis, basketball, bowling and golf. Rose could not be missed at one of her kids' athletic events. She was either coaching, keeping score, working the concession stand, taking pictures and always cheered loudly. She was an avid photographer and always had a camera in her hands. She loved her job as the CNS Nurse and had many great friends at school. She was loved by teachers and students alike. She was a great listener and cared greatly for people. Rose was truly a special person and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Services: Calling Hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, NY. Memorial Service will follow at 7PM.
