Ronald G. "Ron" Smith, 66, of Kirkville, passed away on Wednesday at Crouse Hospital with family by his side. He was born July 7, 1945 in Syracuse son of William and Edith Pearcey Smith. Ron served in the US Air Force from 1964-68 and on November 3, 1973 he was married to Eileen Powers in Canastota. He retired from US Airways in 2001 after 34years. He also worked for Centro and at one time worked for Eastern Ambulance. Ron was a member of the American Legion, 20 year member of the Minoa Vol. Fire Dept. and EAVES Ambulance in E. Syracuse.

He is survived by his wife Eileen, 2 daughters; Gilian (Bastian) Tenbergen, Germany, Kimarie (Christopher) Jeffreys, Clay, 3 grandchildren; Christopher, Jr., Jacob & Lauren, brother, Robert A. Smith, sister Jeanne (Louis) Grant, both of Syracuse, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Rosemary P. Haussig.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, with a celebration of Ron's life at 4pm.
