Ron Phillips, 74, of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Born to the late Bruce & Inez (Doxtator) Phillips. He is a member of the Oneida Nation of the Thames.
Ron was a lifelong truck driver and most recently retired from Sun Chevy.
He enjoyed camping, watching NASCAR, football, visiting with family and friends. He helped the American Legion Post 41 with placement of flags for the last 30 years.
Ron was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Glenda Doxtator, Ruby Phillips; and a brother, Larry Phillips.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rebecca (Brown) Phillips; his children, Ron II, Christine (John)Tarbell, Megan & Kerry Phillips; grandchildren, Michaela (Isaiah) Dorrough, Monica (Timothy) Dorrough and Lorenzo Santiago; his great-grandson, Asaiah Cherebin-Dorrough; brother, Don (Faith) Phillips; and sisters, Laura and Linda Phillips; lifelong friend Kenneth "Wayne" (Linda) Moore; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Calling hours are Monday, September 11 from 6-8pm and funeral service Tuesday, 10am, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse, NY.
