Ronald W. Oaster

Ronald W. Oaster, 81, of Cicero, passed away on Tuesday October 18, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born in Watertown, NY on April 24, 1941 son of the late Donald and Geraldine Oaster. He attended North Syracuse High School, serving in the US Navy (1959-63) upon leaving. He was united in marriage to Sandra Houghton on August 22, 1964. Ron was owner of Oaster Brothers Service Stations for many years. After retiring from his business, he worked delivering for Niles Auto. He was predeceased by his brother, Ken Oaster, sister, Carol King, father-in-law, William Houghton, and mother-in-law, Thelma Houghton.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Houghton) Oaster, children, Shanda Smith, Billy Oaster, Catherine (John) Sienczak, grandchildren, Brian Smith, Chelsea Smith, Casey Smith, Jenna Ponto (Nicholas Betts), Erin Oaster (Jim Fleury), 2 brothers, Chuck (Linda) Oaster, Dwight Oaster, sister-in-law, Katie Oaster, along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1-4pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
