Ronald E. Burton

Ronald E. Burton, 73, of Liverpool, passed away on Friday, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
He was born July 23, 1941 in the Town of Volney to the late Arthur and Mildred Burton. He was the brother of the late Raymond H. Burton and brother-in-law of the late Ralph Schmidt.
After graduation from Fulton High School, Ronald enlisted in the US Air Force where he worked as an Aircraft Electrician. Ron then worked for Rollway Bearing in Liverpool and returned to the Air Force, working for the 174th Air National Guard as a full time Aircraft Instrument Technician. He was activated to active duty in 1968 and sent to Clovis, NM for 10 months. He then returned to the Air National Guard, where he worked until 1984. Ronald then worked for the Defense Logist Agency as a Quality Assurance Representative. He retired from the 174 Air National Guard after working a total of 33 years for the Federal Government and the military for 20 years.
Ronald was a member of Brewerton Fire Department where he also drove the ambulance. He loved to fish and play golf.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Sylvia; his daughter, Lisa (David) Buker; son, Michael (Rita); 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Madelyn Schmidt; sister-in-law, Charlette and 3 foster siblings, Robert, Ronald and Rosemary Kemp.
Calling hours will be 4-7pm Monday with a funeral service following at 7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse.
