Ronald E. Dickson Sr. (Spike), 76, of North Syracuse, passed away Sunday at his home after a long illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Truman P. and F. Margery Dickson, founders of Dick's Auto Express, where he was employed for several years. He later became Terminal Manager of H.W. Taynton Freightways until his retirement. He was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corp having served during Korea. He loved the St. Lawrence River and at one time had a camp in Clayton and a cruiser at French Bay Marina.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years; Kathleen (Kay Williams), daughter Sheree J. (Peter) Carocci and son Ronald E. Dickson, Jr., grandchildren; Peter (Jasmyne), Kathleen, Kayla and Jacob Carocci, Ryan, Jillian and Jason Dickson, great-grandchildren, Lili Oswald and Adrianna Carocci.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street.
