Roger Charles Lamphere, 78, passed away on September 09, 2024 with his family by his side.
Roger was born August 16, 1946 in Syracuse, New York. He was a proud member of the Navy, enlisting in the Naval Reserve at 17 while still in high school. He served on the USS Bristol for a short time and was later reassigned to the USS Enterprise in 1965, completing his active-duty off the coast of Vietnam.
Returning home, Roger worked for Carrier Corporation as line repairman for Thirty-Seven years. He then joined Loomis Armored Services, where he retired almost a decade later. Roger was also an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 607 in Mattydale, NY for several years.
A devoted father and husband, Roger treasured the time he had with his family and doted upon his grandchildren. Roger was preceded by his mother Lillian (Burgess), father Charles and brother Bryan.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Arlene (Pazer); his sons Christopher (Heather), Sean (Laura) and Eric (Jena); his grandchildren Victoria, Alivia, Abigail, Kaylen, Carolyn, Lucas, Regan and Stacia along with his sisters Fay Foster, Bonnie Baxter and Suzanne Sokolowski and his many nieces and nephews.
There will be a three-hour celebration for Roger’s Family and friends on Friday 9/20/2024 from 5-8pm at Newcomer Cremations & Funerals,705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212.
Memorial donations in memory of Roger can be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
