Roger Joseph Cayen

Roger J. Cayen, 88, of North Syracuse, passed away Sunday after a long illness at the Loreto Nursing Home. He was born in Ottawa, Ontario Canada August 20, 1924. Roger was a WWII Army veteran he toured in Europe as a Private and he received medals and ribbons while in service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #787, also a member the St. Rose of Lima Church, and the Silver Fox Senior Club , and retired from R.E. Dietz. He will be remembered for his passion for singing, especially country music, dancing, playing cards and love of Golf. Roger was predeceased by his wife, Eva L. Cayen; brother, Horace Cayen and sister, Marie Bastha.
He is survived by his daughter, Carol A. (Cayen) Fitzgerald; son in law, Jack R. Fitzgerald; granddaughter, Krystal A. Fitzgerald; and nieces; Diane Harrington, Judy Parish and Barbara Fabian. And nephews Ronald Cayen, Daniel Cayen, Timothy Duquette and Robert Duquette and other neices and nephews from Ottawa Canada.
Memorial services will be at a later date.
