Roberta (Bobbie) Oberholtzer, 89 of North Syracuse passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at home surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Independence, Kansas and daughter of the late Theodore and Rosliea (Taggart) Taylor.
Bobbie was a beloved mother, friend and neighbor and has been an active member of Andrews Memorial Church since moving to New York. Bobbie enjoyed the company of her friends, the lunch bunch and birthday bunch. Bobbie graduated from the University of Kansas as a Registered Nurse where she worked at Chicago Memorial until relocating to North Syracuse to raise her family.
She is preceded in death by her late husband James Oberholtzer. Bobbie is survived by her brother Rear Admiral James T. (Rosalea) Taylor, CEC,USN Ret. of Seatle, Washington, her son Gordon (Honey) Oberholtzer of Syracuse, daughters, Carole (Bruce) Harris of Constantia and Jannis Danes and Jeff of Minoa as well as 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday April 20, 2017 from 4pm-6pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, memorial service will follow at 6pm. Bobbie will be laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery at Independence, Kansas with the love of her life James.
