Roberta A. Massara, 85, of Clay, NY, passed away June 27, 2021 at home.
She was born March 28, 1936 in Liverpool, NY to the late John Czerwinski and Marie Teska Czerwinski. She graduated from Assumption Academy in Syracuse, NY. She was employed by Emkay Candle Factory and General Electric.
Roberta enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, and crocheting. Her many crocheting masterpieces were shared with family, friends, and parishioners of the many parishes she was a part of. In her younger years, she was passionate about ice skating and wished to be a professional figure skater. She raised her family on the Oneida River where they would water ski all day long in the summer.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Vincent Massara in 2014; sister, Rita Peisel in January 2021.
She is survived by her son Vince (Pam) Massara; daughter, Bernadette (John) Daniels; two grandchildren, Gregory Massara and Allison Sammon; two sisters, Jean Bauer, Margaret (Gary) Quackenbush; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Thursday, from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse. A mass will take place Friday, 9:30AM, at St. Stephen's Church, 469 Main St., Phoenix. Interment to follow in Pine Plains Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Stephen's Church.
