Robert H. Zinsmeyer

Robert H. Zinsmeyer, 78, passed away with his loving family by his side on Sunday.

He was owner and proprietor of Bob's Barber Shop, Cicero for 43 years.

After retirement from the Barber Shop, he began his second career at McConnellsville Golf Club Pro Shop, where his cash register skills were "not up to par".

Bob was an avid golfer. He always looked forward to his weekly Wednesday outings with his golf buddies at McConnellsville golf course and many other courses. He also enjoyed his Monday night league at McConnellsville and the many friends he made at his favorite course.

Robert was also a member of many organizations. He was a coach and umpire for Cicero Little League, a committeeman of Boy Scout Troop 117, a charter member and treasurer of Cicero Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Town of Cicero Zoning Board of Appeal, a lifetime member of South Shore Association, president and member of McConnellsville Golf Club, a friend of NOPL, president of Cicero High School Sports Booster and president of Cicero Golden Eagles Parent Group.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Brenda; children, Thomas Zinsmeyer and Melinda (Joe) Bristol; brother, Gary (Edward Tucker) Zinsmeyer; sister, Joan (David) Kesel; sister in law, Patricia Parks; 5 grandchildren, Tyler Zinsmeyer, Nathan (Michele) Bristol, Derek Zinsmeyer, Andrew Bristol and Briana Zinsmeyer and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Mina Zinsmeyer; brother, Lewis F. Zinsmeyer.

Calling hours will take place Thursday, 4-7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse.

A service in his honor will be held Friday, 10 AM at Cicero United Methodist Church.

Burial to follow in North Syracuse Cemetery.
