Robert J. Wagner

Robert J. "Bob" Wagner, 83, of Liverpool, passed away on Friday December 15, 2023 at home. Robert was born in Syracuse on April 20, 1940, son of the late Albert and Roseanne Wagner.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Violet and daughter, Darlene Wagner.

He is survived by his children, Cheryl (Richard) Marlin, Robert Wagner, II, (Donna McGiveron), and Machelle (Gary) Paoletti; his siblings, Albert Wagner, Peter Wagner, Rosemarie Granger, and John Wagner; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Robert proudly served in the US Navy, stationed with the USS Hermitage (LSD-34) as well as the Reserves.

He was a tool and die apprentice for Van Sanford Tool Corp. He retired from the railroad after working for Conrail for over 15 years.

He had many joys in life, whether travelling to visit family, going to dinner, or attending performances, his favorite being the Riverdance. He enjoyed coin collecting, crosswords and playing cards with family.

He was always quick with a joke and liked to make people laugh. When people heard his name, he got a kick out of when they would say. "Like the famous movie star"?


Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 22nd from 3- 5 PM at New Comer Creations & Funeral, 705 N Main St., North Syracuse, with services at 5 PM.
