Robert W. Coffey Sr., 75 of Hastings, died Thursday at home, after a brief illness. Born in Canton, NY, Robert was the son of William & Mamie (O'Brien) Coffey. Robert retired from Oswego Asphalt in Fulton and was a member of the Teamster's Union #317. He is Predeceased by his wife Norma Capalario Coffey and Companion Betty Runge. Robert is survived by his children, Pat (Carl) Watkins of Hastings, Max (Sandra) of Wilmington, NC and Robert Jr. (Linda) of Hastings; step-children, Pat (Bob) Hardy of Mexico, Judy Dafoe of Hermon, NY and Larry (Linda) Frisco of Central Square; two half brothers, Marshall and Barry Coffey both of Orlando FL; and one half-sister, Fern Plumley of Solvay. Robert has 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Sunday at 4 PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial will be in the Spring at Beach Plains Cemetery, Canton, NY. Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 1-4 PM at the funeral home, 705 North Main Street.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be to Hospice of CNY.
