Robert W. "Bob" Atwater, Sr., 66, passed away on Thursday at home. He was born on January 29, 1948 in Syracuse, son of the late Marion Horner. Bob served in the US Army during Vietnam receiving numerous medals including: Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Medal with Palm, the Purple Heart Medal and the Silver Star Medal.
Surviving are his 2 sons; Brian (Melissa) Atwater, Surprise, AZ, Robert, Jr. (Amy), Clarence Center, NY, 3 grandchildren; Brenna, Brody & A.J., and his longtime companion Barbara Mort.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
