Robert Underwood

Robert Underwood, 67, of Bridgeport, passed away April 24, 2018. Robert was born in Syracuse, New York on June 6, 1950 to the late Robert and Mary Underwood. Bob served in the coast guard reserve in Sylvan Beach, NY and also served 6 years in the national guard before joining the Bridgeport Fire Department in 1979. He served two terms as chief from 1985 until 1993. He was also a charter member and served as president of the Bridgeport VFW Mens Auxillary. In his free time, Bob was an avid camper. He is survived by a son, Robert (Jessica) Underwood III; a daughter, Erin Underwood; and his dog, Dutch. A memorial service will take place 12:30pm, at the Bridgeport VFW, 516 State Rt. 31, Bridgeport, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to gofundme.com/BobUnderwood.
