Robert Thomas Hennessey, Jr., 94, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Saturday after a brief illness. Robert was born in Brooklyn, NY. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 and was honorably discharged as a full Captain in 1946. He was commanding officer of a military police company during the India-Burma China Defensive. Robert returned to the Brooklyn Eagle Newspaper and married his beautiful, loving wife, Florence who worked there as a bookkeeper. Robert and Florence settled in Liverpool where they raised their family and he worked for the Syracuse Newspapers as Advertising Director. He enjoyed fishing and gardening in his free time.
Robert is survived by his wife of 68 years, Florence of Liverpool; 2 sons, Robert W. of Baldwinsville and his family and Thomas of Harpswell, Maine and his family; and brother, William of Liverpool.
A graveside service will be held in the Onondaga County Veteran's Cemetery in the spring.
