Robert "Bob" Stevenson, 87, of Central Square a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away surrounded by loved ones Monday, March 31, 2025 of a broken heart. Bob’s life was a testament to the power of his love for his family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren and his unwavering work ethic.
He was born October 30, 1937 in Syracuse, NY to the late Charles and Pauline (Schaad) Stevenson of Clay, NY. Upon graduation from North Syracuse in 1955, Bob enlisted in the US Army. After his completing his stint with the Army he found a home working for AC Lamb & Son’s until 1979 when he began hauling copper wire for Omega Wire, Williamstown NY, until retirement.
On March 19, 1966 he married his loving wife, Patricia Kotary. Together they built a beautiful life in Central Square raising their family and creating memories. Bob supported his children and grandchildren in their endeavors. He enjoyed watching his granddaughters’ sporting events which included: tennis, soccer, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse and horse shows.
He is survived by his two children, Robyn (Alan) Clark of Mexico, NY and Robert (Donna) Stevenson, Chaumont, NY.; five grandchildren David Clark, Mexico, NY, Luke (Alyssa) Norman, Flagstaff, AZ, Becca (Brandon Brummert) Clark, Chili, NY, Camille Stevenson, Chaumont, NY, Malena Stevenson, Chaumont, NY; four great grandchildren Rohrich & Farrah Norman, Piper Clark and Corbin Brummert; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents; two siblings, Charles & Carolyn; and his loving wife.
A graveside service will be private at Pine Plains Cemetery in Clay.
