Robert Charles Martin Sr.
October 16, 1939 — June 10, 2024
Robert Charles Martin Sr., 84, of Central Square NY passed away on June 10th, 2024. He was born in Constable NY to Joseph and Emilia (Savage) Martin.
He grew up in the North Country with a variety of cousins at his side.
Robert worked for the Gardall Safe Corporation for 29 years, eventually becoming Vice President of the company before retiring. After retiring from Gardall, he was self-employed for a number of years before finally retiring from work. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies both after his employment, and during, including hunting and fishing.
Robert was predeceased by his parents and grandson, Brian James Evenden.
He is survived by his four children, Robert (Catherine) Martin Jr., Tia (Brian) Martin-Evenden, Steven Martin, and Joseph (Jill) Martin; and eight grandchildren (Cody Martin, Abby Martin, Kelsey Krause, Kayla Wilson, Colby Evenden, Steven Martin, Logan Martin, and Cameron Martin).
The family will hold a private memorial service and scattering of ashes at a later date.
Donations may be made in Robert’s name to the Children’s Miracle Network, a cause he always supported, or Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, the local affiliate.
