Robert L. Nelson, 77, of Clay, NY passed away Monday at Francis House in Syracuse, NY. Born in De Kalb, IL, Robert was a Veteran serving in the Air Force at Lackenheath, England. He attended Rice University and Northern Illinois University. He worked for Owens-Illinios Glass Company and retired after 25 years. He was a conservationist and enjoyed gardening and bird watching. He played basketball for most of his life and participated in the Senior Olympics. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Shirley Moyer and Donna Simonian.
Robert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara (Mueller); daughters, Kimberly (Kevin) Jeffries, Julie (Jack) Harrison and Lisa (Jack) Blum; brother, Jack Nelson; four grandchildren, Ryan, Audrey, Lindsey and Hilary; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and there will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave, Syracuse, NY 13208
