Robert John Koagel, 62, of Parish, passed away on Wednesday.
Robert was a proud grandfather and enjoyed spending time with them. Robert worked as truck driver for many years. He also worked at Sam Young Safety Shoes for 20 years; driving around New York State to different factories selling steel toed shoes. Robert also enjoyed spending summers working for Bob Maxwell's Walk-Away Sundaes. He also enjoyed coaching youth baseball and watching the NY Yankees and NY Giants.
Robert was predeceased by his beloved granddaughter, Kaitelyn Elizabeth Koagel; sisters, Carolyn Johnson and Katie Koagel; sister-in-law, Linda McNamara; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Marilyn McNamara and his parents, Willard and Catherine Koagel.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two children, Robert, Jr. (Christa) and Brian (Melissa); eleven grandchildren, Amanda, Brian, Brittney, Bobby, Bryce, Christa, Casandra, Izzy, Abby, Jacob and Noelle; three siblings, Willard (Julie) Koagel, Tom (Charlene) Koagel and Susan Koagel; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn McNamara and Kathleen (Greg) Gonya; three brothers-in-law, Robert McNamara, David McNamara and William Johnson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be Saturday 4-6PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse with a service to follow at 6PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Transplant Awareness Group.
