Robert H. Jeffries, (1924- 2022) Born August 27, 1924 in Norwalk Ohio to Howard D. Jeffries and Thelma Lutts Jeffries, served in the U.S. Navy WWII 1943-1946 he then married Mary E. North on October 28, 1948.
In 1951 he moved his young family to Star Lake, NY where he helped his parents run Bear Mountain Camp in Cranberry Lake while working for J&L Steel New York Division for 28 years. While at J&L he worked hard, took correspondence courses to advance his career and became General Manager of the concentrator. After J&L closed he worked at Newton Falls Paper Mill 1980 -1991, when he retired to take care of his ailing wife.
He was very active in the Cub Scouts as Pack Leader and Boy Scout Troop leader donating his vacation time to canoe trips, camping trips and Jamborees. He loved building and flying his RC aircraft, was an avid gardener and enjoyed round and square dancing. He was a devoted husband and father.
He is predeceased by his wife Mary in 1991.
He is survived by his son, James (Debra) Jeffries, Constantia, NY; daughter, Marjean (Charles) Bartlett, LaFayette, NY; son, Darrell (Debra) Jeffries, Mosinee, WI; son, Kevin (Kimberly) Jeffries, Pennellville, NY; son, Vernon Jeffries, Mt. Plymouth, FL; daughter Amanda (Cheng) Jeffries, Albany, NY; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren .
