Robert J. Blakeman, Sr., 92, of Bridgeport, passed away unexpectedly on Friday.
Robert was a loving, kind and gentle man. He served his country in Europe during WWII. Robert loved sports of all kind, especially the game of golf. He was a member of Drumlins Country Club for 40 years. Robert was a lifetime SU basketball and football fan. He was a member of North Syracuse Baptist Church. He lived a moral life and taught his family by the life he lived. He was a true role model and our hero. He was deeply loved and respected and will be missed by many.
Robert was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Margaret "Peggy" and two brothers, Donald and William Blakeman.
Robert is survived by two children, Marjorie (Stanley) Prue and Robert J. (Jo Serino) Blakeman, Jr.; grandchildren, Stanley, Jr., Scott, Susanne, Steven, Robert III, Brandon and Sarah; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Marjorie (William) Jakes and several nieces and nephews.
No services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to North Syracuse Baptist Church, 420 S. Main St., N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
