Robert I. Longmuir, Sr., 73, passed away on Wednesday at Crouse Hospital with his loving family by his side. Robert was the son of the late Edwin and Minnie Longmuir. He was born in Portsmouth, England and came to the United States in 1952. He was in the US Navy and served on the Destroyer USS Charles S. Sperry DD697.

Bob was an active member of the Cicero American Legion Post #787 and a lifetime member of the VFW #8440 in Bridgeport. Bob was well known for his work for the clam bakes. He retired from General Motors after 36 years. Bob was an avid golfer, he enjoyed watching SU Sports and was a Bills Fan. Bob enjoyed living between Syracuse and St. Petersburg, Florida where he has a house.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Debbie L. Longmuir, son, Robert I. Longmuir, Jr., sister, Jennifer Downey, grandchildren, Nicole Longmuir, Jennifer Bell, 3 great grandchildren; Donovan, Dante & Ariana, several nieces and a nephew.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4pm to 7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, with services to follow.

Contributions may be made to the Cicero American Legion.
